Whether coach Marc Lievremont was unhappy with Saturday’s performance or was always going to do this was not revealed when the side was named early in the week; comment suggests the selection was a bit of both. Reserve fly-half David Skrela lasted only 11 minutes at Albany before suffering a tournament-ending shoulder injury that has seen him replaced by Jean-Marc Doussain.
